After graduation from dental school at West Virginia University, Dr. Nabors chose a small town in the mountains of Western North Carolina to begin his practice and raise his family.
As Dr. Nabors gained more experience in dentistry, he developed an increasing concern of the materials placed in patients' mouths and the effect of these materials on their overall physical health.
In 1995 he transferred ownership of his large general practice to his associate of ten years, in order to change the focus of his practice.
Dr. Nabors built a small boutique office dedicated to health-centered and cosmetic dentistry and optimum patient comfort.
The new office was built to meet the needs of chemically sensitive patients. The building was built with non-toxic materials such as non-allergenic paint, carpet, and vinyl adhesives. Pesticides are not used in the facility and our staff wears no fragrances. Every effort was made to optimize the dental experience.
Dr. Nabors was one of the pioneers in mercury-free dentistry, having not placed amalgams in over twenty-one years. He recognizes that mercury is a dangerous neurotoxin, as he himself has been diagnosed with mercury toxicity and is being successfully treated through chelation therapy.
Dr. Nabors is a former Boy Scout leader, a Rotarian of seventeen years, and is presently on the board of Haywood Community College, where he has served for over fifteen years.
He has four sons and a daughter and has been married to his wife, Diane, for fourteen years.
In addition to his formal dental education, Dr. Nabors has studied extensively to develop his clinical skills and expertise. Some of his professional affiliations are: The International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT), Holistic Dental Association, the Forum for Contemporary Dental Esthetics, the L.D. Pankey Institute, the Academy of Dental Practice Administration, the American Dental Association, and he is a member
of the International Academy of Biological Dentistry and Medicine.
Dr. Nabors enjoys flower gardening, traveling, skiing, fishing, and spending time with his wife and two standard poodles.
